Safeguarding

Taunton Deane Blades Fencing Club recognises its responsibility for the safety of all its members, and to protect and safeguard the welfare of the children and young people entrusted to the club’s care. The welfare of children is everybody’s responsibility, particularly when it comes to protecting children from abuse. Everyone - administrators, coaches, parents, friends, children themselves can help and have a responsibility to keep children safe.

All children regardless of age, disability, race, religious belief, and sexual identity have a right to be protected from abuse.

Taunton Deane Blades Fencing Club is guided by and compliant with the welfare and child protection policies laid down by British Fencing: https://www.britishfencing.com/policy-zone/welfare-policies-guidelines/

Our nominated Welfare Officer is Mark Hughes. Mark has undergone the relevant safeguarding training in line with British Fencing Policies. If you have any concerns regarding child safety or welfare please contact him at tauntonbladeswelfare@gmail.com
